If buying or selling a home is in your near future, your Trane warranty could be eligible to be transferred to the new homeowner — an attractive feature for buyers and sellers alike.
As a seller, a transferable warranty can be an attractive feature for someone looking to move into your home. As a buyer, you will want to ask about the status of the warranty — otherwise you could be missing out on many years of coverage. Here are a few questions to ask:
Your Trane system could be eligible for a warranty transfer if it was installed after August 1st, 2011. If so, refer to the warranty paperwork that came with your system to determine the length of the remaining warranty.
The warranty transfer must happen within 90 days of the closing date. If it does not take place during this timeframe, your warranty will not be transferable.
Reach out to the Trane Limited Warranty Customer Service line at 855-260-2975 for help transferring your Trane equipment warranty. The transfer must be purchased for a small fee of $99.
We want our customers to be aware of the warranty transfer process so they can take full advantage of its availability.
